Frank Family Vineyards Named “Winery of the Year” by Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine

Frank Family Vineyards was awarded “Winery of the Year” by Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine in the publication’s “Best of 2012” December issue. The periodical, published by Charles Olken, has been reviewing wine since 1974, and reviews thousands of wines each year. The Connoisseurs’ Guide selected Frank Family Vineyards based on its consistent excellence across the board, saying, “Multiple star ratings were garnered in virtually every category, starting the year off with Zinfandel and ending with Cabernet Sauvignon, and touching Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Sparkling Wine along the way.” Adds publisher Olken, “No other winery has demonstrated such a broad range of special accomplishment. Big kudos to Rich Frank and the Frank Family winery.” The publication is available by subscription at

“It is an honor to receive this award during our 20th anniversary. Our goal has always been to build a quality winery that makes outstanding wines at an affordable price point,” says Frank Family proprietor Rich Frank. “We owe a heartfelt thanks to our winemaker, Todd Graff, who has applied his expertise to our family winery since 2002.”

Frank Family Vineyards, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, has steadily expanded its vineyard properties. In addition to the Wood Ranch Vineyard Estate, the winery also has the Lewis Vineyard in Napa Carneros, the S&J Vineyard in Capell Valley, both named after the Frank family grandchildren, and Rich Frank’s personal estate, Winston Hill.
