Inman Family Wines celebrates 10 years of Russian River Valley winemaking; kicks off a year of festivities with a retrospective tasting

In honor of its 10 year anniversary, Inman Family Wines Winemaker and Owner, Kathleen Inman, has announced plans for a yearlong series of celebrations beginning with an exclusive retrospective tasting featuring a complete vertical of Kathleen Inman’s estate Olivet Grange Vineyard Pinot Noir from 2003-2009. A dinner paired to Inman wines will follow. The event will take place on Saturday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the winery, located at 3900 Piner Road, Santa Rosa, California. Tickets are extremely limited and may be purchased for $125 by calling 707-293-9576.

Ten years ago, Kathleen Inman made her life-long dream official when she began harvesting her first crop of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from her estate vineyard, Olivet Grange. Just a few years prior, she had traded her Valentino-shoes lifestyle in England as a financier for a pair of galoshes and her native California sunshine to start Inman Family Wines. Kathleen Inman has since been a woman with an unfaltering mission. She is an advocate for natural winemaking, organic farming and produces wines that are balanced and food-friendly with naturally higher acidity. Her sustainable practices extend beyond the vineyard. The recently opened Inman Family Wines tasting room is constructed almost entirely of recycled and repurposed materials and the final phase of construction for the Inman winery has just been completed in time for harvest. Her entrepreneurial spirit and success is echoed by the fact that she has expanded production from 70 cases to an anticipated 4,000 cases this year.

This May, she was honored with a Rising Star award by Women for WineSense, and in 2011 she was presented with the Best Practices Award from the Business Environmental Alliance of Sonoma County. “I often joke that it only took me 10 years to become an overnight success,” says Kathleen Inman. “In all seriousness, my biggest accomplishment has been the fact that I continue to produce wines that I like to drink and that are true to the Russian River Valley, and that I’ve done so with the support of my loving husband Simon and our two daughters.”
