Ram’s Gate Winery introduces new culinary and hospitality talent with a delectable seasonal wine and food experience offered to individuals and groups

(May 24, 2022; Sonoma, Calif.)—Joe Nielsen, general manager and winemaker of Ram’s Gate Winery, is pleased to announce the launch of the Seasonal Wine & Food Experience, a communal, multi-course pairing set to elevate and expand the hospitality offerings at the winery’s lauded Carneros-based tasting room. The experience represents the “first bites” of what the future holds for Ram’s Gate Winery’s hospitality program, created by the winery’s new dynamic duo, Executive Chef Ruby Oliveros and Director of Hospitality Kristoffer Miller.

The new Seasonal Wine & Food Experience begins with a tour of the Ram’s Gate Winery property, highlighting the estate’s farming techniques and winemaking process. The tour is followed by a guided tasting of wines hand-selected by Nielsen and paired specifically with seasonal dishes prepared by Chef Oliveros. The two-hour, communal, multi-course experience is offered Thursday through Monday at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for $160 per person. Experiences are limited to 24 seats, with parties of up to 6 guests. Reservations can be made online via Tock.

“At Ram’s Gate Winery we hope to bring a new perspective to refined elegance through thoughtful farming, intentional winemaking, genuine hospitality and sublime culinary experiences,” says Nielsen. “Our new executive chef, Ruby Oliveros, has an amazing palate and has crafted each dish specifically to highlight each wine’s nuance and profile. The creativity in our culinary department is unparalleled.”

Executive Chef Oliveros joined the Ram’s Gate Winery team in April 2022 with 15 years of restaurant experience at institutions such as Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s acclaimed Silk restaurant and Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. She joins Ram’s Gate Winery’s new Director of Hospitality Kristoffer Miller who came on board in January 2022 after a robust career managing beverage programs in San Francisco. He most recently spent four years as estate manager at Kendall Jackson Winery.

The Seasonal Wine & Food Experience adds to Ram’s Gate Winery’s menu of hospitality experiences, which currently includes three tiers of wine tastings: a four-wine bar flight for $40, a five-wine Featured Flight for $50 and a five-wine Reserve Flight for $60, with the option to add a cheese and charcuterie board for $45, all available on Tock.

“We love seeing the reaction of our guests as they taste Chef Oliveros’ pairings. She brings an international perspective, with a keen sense of texture and flavor to her culinary offerings,” says Miller. “We’ve also observed that the communal aspect of this tasting experience has sparked new friendships in food and wine, and we get so much joy from hearing the laughter and excitement coming from the table.”
